1st Line: The alarm clock woke me this morning at the ungodly hour of eight.
Lady Georgiaanna Rannoch "Georgie" -- penniless but titled, works undercover as a maid & also is a distant cousin to the King
Set in London 1930's
Georgie is asked by the Queen to host the Bavarian Princess "Hanni" -- a young naive girl just out of the convent school. The Queen hopes that her son will lay eyes on this pretty young thing and be distracted from that older, married and American Wallis Simpson person. Everywhere that Hanni goes...murder seems to abound. Is this innocent royal a suspect or an intended victim? Love the era, nice book
